Experience

Successful collaboratives are purpose-designed and operate in response to the needs of their participants. MITRE has accelerated collaboratives that focus on the four areas shown below.

Infrastructure

Focus on a community co-designing and co-resourcing needed infrastructure that is too costly or risky for any single entity to undertake on its own.

Intervention

Focus on coordinated action to positively influence community behavior or provide integrated, community-based support.

Innovation

Focus on applied R&D or stimulating new solutions or markets, given sizable risk and investment involved in creating new IP or crossing the invention-to-market chasm.

Information

Focus on partner-driven data sharing and analysis to gain insights that are otherwise unavailable, so partners can take informed action on national challenges or develop standardization solutions.

MITRE has served as a connector for industry, government, and academia and co-designed, launched, and sustained dozens of collaboratives. These collaboratives can take the form of advisory and coordinating bodies, conferences, crowdsourcing, collaborative research, entrepreneurial ecosystems, or data & analysis partnerships.
